Proposed fix: change the request to the student trowel ("Peri, fetch my student trowel. The old iron one") — or, if the narrow trowel is wanted on stage for continuity with ch. 023's packing list, have him lift the sample with the narrow trowel and switch to the student trowel (already in the pack per ch. 006/023) before listening.
