Scene 24/ch. 006's departure is Day 7 (21 Cornmonth) — timeline.md confirms this — which is before the compost course has even ended, let alone before the autumn course (which starts over a month later) exists to have "seed trials" running. Labeling the racks' contents as "the autumn course's seed trials" on Day 7 is roughly two months premature. This is a pre-existing groundwork error inherited unfixed into the rewritten scene; since scene 24 restages this exact passage, it was an opportunity to correct it that wasn't taken.
