Consistency Check — Scenes 47–51 (Third Draft, Book 1)

1. Hard contradictions

A. Hay-cut date "the twelfth" contradicts the established nine-weeks interval.

Nine weeks (63 days) back from Day 9 (doy 232) lands on doy 169 = 19 Weedmonth, matching deferred-questions.md's own resolution ("Ch. 011 puts redacted at ~22 Weedmonth"). "The twelfth" is 7–10 days too early, and the 12th of a 30-day month isn't naturally "the middle" either. Fix: change "the twelfth" to something in the 19th–22nd range (e.g. "the twentieth"), or drop the specific day-of-month and let "middle of Weedmonth" stand alone — it's already Established at that level of precision and doesn't need a number.

No other hard contradictions found. Every other checked figure matches established canon or earlier third-draft scenes exactly: the 60-yard inner ring, the Seedmonth/Weedmonth/Day-10 chain readings (4 ch 00 / 6 ch 60 unpublished / 9 ch 50 unpublished–9 ch 48 unpublished), the reruns at 9 ch 73 unpublished / 6 ch 18 (scene 43 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted redacted sentence: unpublished prose Eight days lost"), which is reproduced essentially word-for-word from timeline.md.

2. Deferred questions resolved casually

None. The west-side-slowing/centre-march material is explicitly kept open on the page ("It might be slowing... two more readings"), consistent with the sealed/deferred status. No mention of Holm Deep, no field/Deep adjacency drawn, no store/heap/charm language near the field, no god/holiday/realm naming.

3. Day/date/calendar errors

• The hay-cut "twelfth" above.
• Minor, not an error: scene 51 unpublished's "sixteen days and nothing" for the knot-check is correct under the established inclusive-counting convention (Day 1 = day 1 of the count, Day 16 = day 16), same convention used for the Seal of the Loom cooldown.

4. Sums/distances/acreages/dates

All check out (see §1). The pale-field trip is scheduled "the day after tomorrow" from Day 16, landing on Day 18 — exactly the canon date for that visit.

5. New facts established (not yet in canon, worth a backfill note)

• Scene 48 unpublished gives a concrete mechanism for the already-canonical 1s 3d docking: the corn factor's man walked the field on 11 Cornmonth (the same day the outer band stopped), was shown it proudly by Mattie, said nothing, and docked the parish afterward — i.e., the docking is now explicitly caused by that visit. This is a plausible, harmless elaboration of an existing fact, not a new open thread, but canon currently doesn't tie the docking to a specific date/witness and should if this scene is accepted.
• Scene 51 unpublished gives a new (previously unestablished) figure: "thirteen miles still to walk that day" as Edwin's memory of Day 8, after the starling sighting. Not contradictory (no existing Day-8 mileage figure to conflict with), but new and should be logged if kept.
