You are a canon/consistency lens for the novel at redacted. Read CLAUDE.md first and obey it; do not read notes/sealed/.
Your material: draft/book-01/scenes/07-can-you-actually-fight.md, read after scenes 01–06 in the same directory (Day 2 morning; the Pellings' rain is due at 12:30 today; Sorrel has not yet met Peri — that is reserved for the next scene at the gate).
Check every fact, mechanic and inference against, read IN FULL: notes/canon/world/farm-teaching.md (the five spells, their bounds, local names, revision day, dry-casting), notes/canon/world/magic.md (Established: the five-spell course; battle magic; magic missile), notes/canon/world/development.md and notes/canon/system.md (Edwin's early history — the shed at TWENTY-ONE, three years into Wystow, never went back; no agricultural college existed), notes/canon/characters/edwin.md (rule 4 on the "one spell, one shed" line; his history), notes/canon/characters/peri.md (Established Day 2 facts; sword left behind; her questions), notes/canon/characters/minor.md (Mrs Tansy — three weeks at the class, flock saved nine years back by the blessing via the six-counties teaching), notes/reader-notes-book-1.md (the ch. 002 comments: "ewe" no longer ewe-specific; the agricultural college anachronism; "put it together"; "nobody sings"), notes/reader-notes-rewrite.md. redacted sentence: unpublished prose
Report FINDINGS ONLY — line quoted, canon file and line, what is wrong. No "clean" verdicts. Briefly and separately: canon the scene could use and does not. Do not edit. Do not commit. Your final message is the report.

1. "Make the ewe well" reproduces a continuity slip already flagged for correction.

notes/reader-notes-book-1.md, lines 188–190: "Continuity slips. ... 'make the ewe well' after the case stopped being ewe-specific (002)" — DRMacIver's own note flagging exactly this phrase in ch. 002 as an error, because the redacted is not ewe-specific.notes/canon/world/farm-teaching.md, "Local names" section: the course-level name is the redacted; "ewe blessing"/"sick-ewe blessing" is only the local/vale name for the local case. The scene itself correctly narrates "the redacted" one paragraph earlier (line 13), then has Peri's question regress to the already-flagged ewe-specific phrasing. Since scene 07 is explicitly restaging ch. 002's ten o'clock, and this exact line was singled out by the author as needing a fix, carrying it forward unchanged reproduces a defect rather than correcting it. Should read something general — "make the beast well" or similar — consistent with the paragraph's own "redacted" framing. No other hard contradictions found: the Wystow/battle-magic backstory (age 21, three years into Wystow's general college, magic missile/shed/"never went back," the "one spell, one shed" line addressed to "Miss Millbrook") matches the ruled version in notes/canon/characters/edwin.md (lines 56–62, 576–577) precisely, including the DRMacIver-mandated fix that removed the old "agricultural college at Wystow" anachronism (notes/reader-notes-book-1.md item 4) — this scene gets that one right. Mrs Tansy's three-weeks/nine-years-back flock line matches notes/canon/characters/minor.md (lines 38–44), which explicitly rules there's no contradiction in her having been saved by the blessing without having attended this class. Peri's limp continuing from Day 1 (draft/book-01/scenes/03...md) is consistent; her sword left behind is a new but non-contradictory beat (peri.md only establishes a later, ch.-010-equivalent instance of leaving it behind).
redacted sentence: unpublished prose Not an error (canon says this is fine to leave unshown), but a place where the fuller mechanic could land if the author wants it.
