Deviations/notes:

• No em-dashes in either chapter (well under budget); house-words checked by census ("arithmetic", "honest", "ordinary" at zero; "the whole of" trimmed to 2 in 022).
• The census in 023 is cast on the auger cores laid out on a plank at the top of the bank, not astride the face from the bottom — the plan's phrasing would have put a one-handed Edwin down a bank against redacted's rule. Same finding, same cut, rule kept; the engineers' hands are on the auger throughout and the sheet says the mage did not touch it.
• Marsh's estate politics rendered as tenants' drainage and forty men at 3s and dinner; the works' shrinkage figures become a thing Edwin wants sent somewhere safe (feeds 027's clearing-house).
• redacted's four-mile test not run here; it stays in 024 per plan.
• The commit also picked up the previously untracked accepted chapters/020-the-field-in-autumn.md, which was sitting unstaged in the repo.

Deviations/notes:

• 025 uses 15–16 Fallowmonth (plan table says 025 = Days 60–61, 026 = 62–68); 026 runs 17–26 Fallowmonth, inside its window.
• 026's cut is the note, not the first reading mid-note: the first reading lands in the night-test scene just before, which also supplies the daylight-knowledge control that a hostile college reader would demand. No fifth site is created at Wystow — 028's guild-channel beat is untouched.
• Names committed (drafting's call, flagged for backfill): redacted** (the second hand), redacted (Fellow, soils), redacted (registry clerk), Ossett (Fellowship), redacted/**redacted (engineers, from 023), the redacted place, redacted, Moss's Six barley, Moss's Lane.
• Farming policy read and applied to 026, which carries the first author's note (manuring series, spit, worm counts, volunteer wheat). notes/canon/world/farming-glossary.md does not exist yet — these four terms want registering when it is created. 022–025 predate the policy and are left for the edit stage to retrofit; the facts in them I'd flag as glossary candidates are peat shrinkage after drainage (~4 in/yr), peat auger/gouge coring, stack-threshing and denning, and the surveyor's chain.
