You are a canon/consistency lens for the novel at redacted. Read CLAUDE.md first and obey it; do not read notes/sealed/.
Your material: draft/book-01/scenes/06-the-front-from-the-roof.md, read after scenes 01–05 in the same directory (continuity binds: what Sorrel told him to write and in what order; the Pellings' rain tomorrow at 12:30; the study vs the kitchen; the box he displayed; the fourteenth decided).

Report FINDINGS ONLY — line quoted, canon file and line, what is wrong. No "clean" verdicts. Briefly and separately: canon the scene could use and does not. Do not edit. Do not commit. Your final message is the report.

1. "Study" vs. the established "workroom" — unflagged rename.
Scene 06 line 15: "He went down. The study had one candle lit and the ledger open..." Scene 05 (same room, same day) also calls it "the study" throughout (lines 1, 3). redacted sentence: unpublished prose As it stands, the draft has silently swapped a named, Established room for a new name with no note anywhere reconciling the two. Either this is an intended rewrite decision that needs recording in canon, or it's a slip that should revert to "workroom."
2. "Forty miles" reused for a different quantity than the one canon fixed.
Scene 06 line 3: "he... looked forty miles off toward the coast at nothing a farmer could have seen." The only "forty miles" canon has fixed for Edwin's weather work is the front's width: "a weather front is forty miles wide and I have to hold all of it" (notes/canon/world/magic.md, Established, citing ch. 002; also notes/canon/system.md's "eleven thousand tons of rain" bullet block). Nothing in notes/canon/world/geography.md establishes a distance from the tower to the coast — so this isn't a contradiction of an existing fact, but it reuses the exact number 40 for a different measurement (distance vs. width) inside the same story-mechanic paragraph that later explicitly invokes width ("a body of wet air the width of a county"). A careful reader is likely to read this as the front being forty miles wide and forty miles away, which may or may not be intended — worth a deliberate check rather than an accidental coincidence of figures.
3. Order of the two written entries — matches, verified carefully.
Sorrel's instruction (scene 05, line 57): "'You'll write that one down first,' she said. 'Tonight. Before the loops.'" — "that one" is the Weave's answer of nothing to "who was she to fight" (lines 51–53). Scene 06 lines 17 write that first ("what the Weave had shown the girl when she asked who she was to fight. That took one line"), then the loops description second. This is correctly staged and I found no error here — noting it explicitly since it was one of the named continuity binds and it checks out.
4. Redundant/uncorroborated note — soft, not a hard error.
Scene 06 line 15: Sorrel's desk note reading only "In order." Sorrel already delivered the same instruction to Edwin's face at noon in scene 05, in full, including the "before the loops" ordering. A follow-up note repeating the gist isn't contradicted by anything, but it isn't licensed by anything either — nothing in notes/canon/characters/sorrel.md establishes she leaves duplicate written reminders of instructions already given verbally the same day. Minor; flagged rather than ruled wrong.
5. Unestablished but not contradicted: "letting go" of a held front overnight.
Scene 06 lines 9–13: the front is walked to twenty miles off, "set... redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted sentence: unpublished prose
system.md, Established ch. 001) is the single most on-the-nose piece of canon for this exact moment — Edwin standing emptied at the rail after the day's work — and the scene doesn't touch it, even glancingly. It's the scene that is literally the mechanism in action.characters/edwin.md, Established, ch. 004) is a rule about the very kind of writing he's doing here (an honest account of what he witnessed for Sorrel's record); the scene doesn't connect the writing to that standing rule, though it would cost very little to gesture at it.edwin.md's existing habits list, which is fine but means it isn't currently "canon he could use," it's canon this scene is minting, and it should probably get backfilled into edwin.md if kept.
