User:

You are doing a canon consistency check on the last five scenes of act two of the third draft of Book 1 of an original novel ("Autoroad", a LitRPG). This is a fiction-writing project at redacted. Do NOT read anything under notes/sealed/.

TARGET SCENES (the ones under review):
draft/book-01/scenes/85-do-not-delay-again.md unpublished
redacted sentence: unpublished prose unpublished
draft/book-01/scenes/87-nothing-to-write.md unpublished
draft/book-01/scenes/88-ask-me-in-a-month.md unpublished
draft/book-01/scenes/89-the-road-south-east.md unpublished

FIRST read these canon/reference files in full:

THEN read these earlier third-draft scenes for continuity context (NOT under review, but check the target scenes' back-references, dates, and figures against what these actually say):
draft/book-01/scenes/25 through 33, 38 through 43, 56, 57, 79 through 84 (exact filenames — use ls to find them in draft/book-01/scenes/)

Also grep draft/book-01/scenes/ (scenes 01-24, act one) for "Marsh" to check the Marsh letter's wording if it's referenced in scenes 85-89.

Specifically verify:

REPORT FORMAT (numbered, terse, no praise):

  1. Hard contradictions with Established/Working canon or earlier third-draft scenes — quote both lines, give a fix.
  2. Deferred questions resolved casually, or binding-list rules broken.
  3. Day/date errors.
  4. Sums/counts/distances that don't add up — show your arithmetic.
  5. New facts scenes 85-89 establish that canon does not yet record.

Report directly in your final message as text — do not write any files. Be terse and exhaustive; this is a consistency audit, not a review of prose quality.

Consistency Audit — Scenes 85–89 (Act Two close)

1. Hard contradictions

Sennet's-grass arithmetic self-contradicts within scene 86 unpublished.
Scene 86 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted sentence: unpublished prose Four yards and two feet. Thirty-two days."

The actual subtraction: 16 yd 8 in (584 in) → 21 yd 1 ft (768 in) = 184 in = 5 yd 4 in, not "four yards and two feet" (168 in). Edwin's restated sum contradicts both Sennet's line immediately before it and his own "five yards and a bit" one sentence earlier, in a passage explicitly staged as him "not liking the first [sum]" and redoing it for accuracy. Fix: "Five yards and four inches," or drop the redundant second figure.

Seal-of-the-Loom cooldown drifts by one day across the act's class-level chain.
Anchors, all on-page:

Two levellings (7→8, 8→9) each claim to shorten the cooldown by a day off a base of 29 (post-Level-6), which arithmetically should land at 27 after three dings (29→28→27→26), but the explicit anchor at Level 9 is still 27 — one ding short. Either scene 87 unpublished's figure should read "Twenty-six," or one of scenes 69/78 needs to state explicitly that its ding did not touch the cooldown (contradicting "a day shorter again" at 78). As written, this is an internal sum error spanning scenes not all in the review set, but the review-set scene (87) is the one carrying the wrong terminal number.

Edwin's biography line breaks the citation it's meant to satisfy.

2. Deferred questions / binding-list

3. Day/date errors

redacted sentence: unpublished prose

Soft flag, low confidence: scene 87 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Scene 88 unpublished opens "Peri collected the debt that evening" and logs the knot as "46 d." If 88's "that evening" is meant as the same evening as 87, the knot figure should read 45, not 46. If a day quietly passed between the two scenes (plausible — SCENES.md gives scene 87 unpublished the range "45–46"), there's no error, but nothing in scene 88 unpublished's text signals the day-turn. Recommend an explicit anchor ("the next evening") if a day is meant to pass.

4. Sums/counts/distances

5. New facts established by scenes 85–89 (not yet in canon)
