You are a canon/consistency lens for the novel at redacted. Read CLAUDE.md first and obey it; do not read notes/sealed/.

Your material: draft/book-01/scenes/18-nought-in-every-kind.md, read after scenes 01–17 in the same directory (Day 6, continuous with 17: the six revealings on the Wystow block).

redacted sentence: unpublished prose Also chapters/005-the-sample.md, the groundwork this restages. In particular check: the narrator never says the block is dead or that nothing had ever been in it — that claim must be a character's; and that "the smell" line (in scene 17) reads mineral and nothing over it.

Report FINDINGS ONLY — line quoted, canon file and line, what is wrong. No "clean" verdicts. Briefly and separately: canon the scene could use and does not. Do not edit. Do not commit. Your final message is the report.

Confirmed and hard-ruled. Now compiling the report.

Findings

1. "Monday" violates the standing weekday-name ban.
Scene 17, line 37: "First in 11 yrs. Late (4 min) Monday."
redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted sentence: unpublished prose "Monday" is a direct instance of exactly what this ruling forbids — it also broke the parallel change from ch. 005's original "Late (4 min) last week," which was itself compliant. This needs to be replaced with a functional reference (a date, or "last week"/"the day before").

2. Ch. 005's "provisioned" vs. scene 18's "unpoisoned" — an unflagged silent rewrite of the groundwork's wording, in a direction that doesn't fully reconcile with the scene's own earlier line.
Scene 18, line 33: "...soil that five other revealings had just called sweet, open, clean, unpoisoned and rich." Ch. 005, line 75 (the passage being restaged) has "sweet, open, clean, provisioned and rich." Scene 18 line 29 (the exhaustion reading) still uses "Rich, provisioned, everything a root could ask for..." — so the scene now uses "provisioned" once (line 29, exhaustion) and "unpoisoned" once (line 33, recap), where ch. 005 used "provisioned" in both places. notes/canon/world/silent-soil.md line 28-29 independently states "sweet, open, clean, unpoisoned, rich," so the scene's recap matches that file rather than ch. 005 — but ch. 005 is Established prose the scene is restaging, and the change isn't reconciled or acknowledged anywhere. This is a genuine wording discontinuity between the two texts describing the same event, worth a deliberate call rather than a silent drift.

3. The five-item recap (line 33) and the six-item recap (line 39) don't actually enumerate the same five/six revealings, and this ambiguity is inherited unexamined from ch. 005.
redacted sentence "No burning" corresponds to none of the six standard revealings per notes/canon/world/magic.md (lines 40-51) — none of the five diagnostic revealings tests for fire damage specifically. This exact phrase is carried over verbatim from ch. 005 line 81, so it isn't a new error introduced by scene 18, but the task calls for checking scene 18 against ch. 005 and canon rigorously — this is a standing looseness neither file resolves, and scene 18 was an opportunity to tighten it that wasn't taken.

4. Missing canon the scene could use and doesn't: the mana cost of the full set.
redacted sentence: unpublished prose never write it as free"). Scene 18 has Edwin cast all six revealings back-to-back in one sitting with zero acknowledgment of cost, effort, or drain — no line registers what this cost him, even allowing that Edwin's capacity dwarfs "an ordinary holder's." Given canon explicitly flags this as something that must never be written as free (of redacted, by direct analogy), the six-in-a-row cast here is conspicuously silent on it. Worth at least one beat.
