Findings — scene 25 (draft/book-01/scenes/25-walking-point.md) against canon:

  1. "the rider, who had been fed five times since the previous day's breakfast on Sorrel's instruction" — conflicts with notes/canon/characters/minor.md ("The Wystow rider ... redacted sentence: unpublished prose The established joke is that the horse ate better than the rider; "fed five times" both changes the established count and undercuts that joke by making the rider well-fed himself. Minimal fix: restore "fed three suppers ... on Sorrel's instruction" and drop or rework the "settling a debt" gloss so it doesn't imply he'd been fed generously.

  2. Using the doy key in timeline.md (Haymonth=month 7, Cornmonth=month 8, 30-day months): 10 Haymonth = doy 190; 21 Cornmonth = doy 231; difference = 41 days, not 40. "Near enough" to six weeks (42 days) still works with 41; it doesn't with 40 being a throwaway round number that's simply the wrong subtraction. Minimal fix: change "Forty days" to "Forty-one days."
