• Openings. 90's fen edge as an event: fine (see finding 11 for the repetition inside it). 91's "Twenty-two of forty" mid-drill: fine — it opens on a line of speech, which the binding list permits, and it is not the announcing-fragment fault because the fragment is not restated for effect but argued with.
• The writing-it-down motif. Nine instances across the two scenes (90: Peri not writing, Edwin's entry, "That's readable"; 91: the card, the letter, redacted's slate, the assessor's entry read back, the struck four, Edwin's correction, redacted's "I'll write the third no myself"). Not one of them is individually wrong; the fault is the ending of 90 landing on it with 92 immediately following. See finding 8.
• The kill tally as a device. It reads as a ledger, which is the right register for work being done and should stay — but only once its arithmetic closes (finding 12) and its one editorial aside is cut (finding 18).
