Generalised across the book

"the whole" swept from 67 uses to 31, all of the remaining ones concrete spans ("the whole set" of revealings, scene 17's messenger line). Twenty "the whole way"s are gone.
"arithmetic" gone entirely, including the one on scene 30 you had already commented on and which was still there.
"ruled" for decided recast in 42, 65, 82, 104. Ruling lines on a page stays.
"isn't mine to give/write" recast in 36, 41, 83.

Why the checker didn't catch it. The arithmetic rule existed but nothing in the per-scene pipeline ran the linter. The pre-David pass now has a Part 0 that runs it first and treats every regex hit as a finding. Running it over all 118 scenes turned up 18 error-level hits of your standing rules, all now cleared (verdict "which was the point" clauses, "with the expression of a man who" formulas, an "I'll not", a "want bringing", "put the kettle across", three "in the voice of a" tags, a "three centuries" opener).

Linter changes. Three new warn rules: the-whole, not-mine-to, ruled-for-decided. A new test asserts every rule's examples fire and, for error rules, its counter-examples don't.
