Canon Consistency Check — Scenes 85–89 (Act Two close)

1. Hard contradictions

• Sennet's-grass arithmetic self-contradicts within scene 86 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Four yards and two feet. redacted sentence: unpublished prose Contradicts both Sennet's line and Edwin's own preceding "five yards and a bit." Fix: change to "Five yards and four inches."

• Seal cooldown drifts a day. Scene 56 unpublished (Lv6): "Twenty-nine." Scene 78 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Scene 87 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Twenty-seven, for next time." Two decrements off 29 should land at 27 only after two dings from 29 (29→28→27) — but there are three level-ups on record (6→7→8→9), so scene 87 unpublished's stated 27 is one day short of the pattern, or an earlier scene needs to explicitly not-decrement. Recommend: either scene 87 unpublished → "Twenty-six," or flag that scene 69 unpublished (Lv7) didn't touch cooldown.

• Edwin self-credits "half the kingdom's teachers." notes/canon/characters/edwin.md specifically rules this phrase belongs in the village's mouth, not Edwin's own. Scene 88 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Needs either reassignment to another speaker or explicit sign-off on the register change.

2. Deferred questions / binding-list

• No deferred question resolved on the page. Ferrin/robed-man ambiguity correctly preserved (scene 89 unpublished: watched six weeks, saw "a priest," no confirmation, no mockery).
• SCENES.md's own prose paragraph says Level 9 lands "scene 85 unpublished," while its per-scene table (and the actual text, scene 87 unpublished: [Agent of Fate — Level 9.]) says scene 87 unpublished — a pre-existing internal inconsistency in SCENES.md, not introduced by the drafts, but worth fixing there.
• Fate Magic stays at 2 throughout, as required.
• "Ask me in a month" planted verbatim at scene 30, correctly collected in scene 88 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
• Soft flag: scene 89 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose

3. Day/date errors

All core mappings check out (Day 1 = 15 Cornmonth): Day 42 = 26 Harvestmonth ✓, Day 44 = 28 Harvestmonth ✓, Day 46 = 30 Harvestmonth ✓, Day 50 = 4 Fallowmonth ✓ (uncontradicted).

• Soft flag, low confidence: scene 87 unpublished dates the protocol/Level-9 event "the twenty-ninth" (Day 45); scene 88 unpublished opens "that evening" and logs the knot as "46 d." If same evening as 87, the knot should read 45. SCENES.md gives scene 87 unpublished the range 45–46, so a day may quietly pass — but nothing in scene 88 unpublished's text signals that turn. Recommend an explicit anchor ("the next evening") if intentional.

4. Sums/counts/distances

• Stump-line chain (9 ch 73 unpublished → 10 ch 84 unpublished/86 → 11 ch 03/05): quoted verbatim, correct.
• West–east line 6 ch 18 → projected 7 ch 54 unpublished → actual 7 ch 21 ("seven yards short"): arithmetic checks out.
• Sennet's grass sum: wrong, see §1.
• Seal cooldown 29→27 over three level-ups: one day short, see §1.
• "Thirty-two days" (stake-driving Day 12 → reading Day 44): correct.
• "Thirty days" used for 29 Cornmonth → 28 Harvestmonth (actually Day 15 → Day 44 = 29 days): pre-existing canon text reproduced verbatim, not introduced by 85–89 — flagged for awareness only.

5. New facts established (not yet in canon)
