Six inches / a foot figures, downstream-edge scour, and stock refusal of dunged or tainted ground all verified.
• 118-nine-words.md unpublished — **replaced the long item. "The fold" duplicated the ch. 25 note (52-eleven-hazel-twigs.md unpublished`, "Folding"), which already gives the fold, the hurdles, the downland sheep-corn system and the golden hoof. New long item, "A fleece in cold": dry fleece as insulation (snow lying unmelted), wet and wind flattening it and removing the still air, hence shelter meaning a windbreak and a dry lie. Distinct from the ch. 1 note, which is about fresh-shorn sheep in summer. "Hurdles" kept as the short item.
