You are a canon-consistency lens for a novel draft in redacted. Check three newly drafted scenes for FACTS ONLY (counts, dates, arithmetic, names, who knows what, farming facts, mechanics, geography, timeline, who was in the room). Report findings; do not edit any file.

redacted sentence: unpublished prose unpublished (Day 16 evening = 30 Cornmonth), 52-eleven-hazel-twigs.md unpublished and 53-odderins-gate.md unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Read scenes 28, 29, 36, 40, 42–50 in draft/book-01/scenes/ for continuity (29 and 36 in full).

Read for facts: draft/book-01/SCENES.md (act-two table and binding list), draft/book-01/BACKFILL-ACT2.md (the pale field is FOURTEEN miles west of Fenholt, two short of the Sluice, a quarter mile north-east of the road; redacted redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted seventy, let to a grazier; the hand-line of eleven hazel twigs; census nought; two arcs, outer ~140 yd of visible curve, inner barely a curve; the reader is redacted redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted redacted sentence: unpublished prose Eight days lost'), notes/canon/world/geography.md (the pale field, Ranner's Sluice distances), notes/canon/characters/minor.md (redacted, his daughter's boy), notes/canon/characters/edwin.md (Established: the knot 'does nothing'; the sixpences fund), notes/canon/system.md ([Seal of the Loom] cooldown: thirty days, inclusive, clears at midnight of Day 29/30 = 14 Harvestmonth; Peri can see it counting on status), notes/canon/world/timeline.md (Days 16–18), notes/farming.md.

STRICT: never read chapters/, rewrite/, draft/book-01/rejected-act2/, summaries/, plans/book-01/arc-0*.md, unpublished or their git history; do not search for them. Canon files may quote old chapter lines — those are facts, not lines to suggest.

Verify in particular: (1) scene 51 unpublished's dates: the pale field seen on Day 8 = 22 Cornmonth; the list ruled Day 10 = 24 Cornmonth (scene 36); 'eight days lost' from Day 8 to Day 16; 'sixteen days' since the binding on Day 1 (Day 16 → fifteen or sixteen days? count it); Peri's two-column count (days since the binding going up; the Seal cooldown going down — on Day 16 the cooldown shows how many days?); (2) scene 52 unpublished: 'nine days back' from Day 18 to Day 8 (is it nine or ten?); the distance/direction of the field from the road; the sheep are the grazier's; the hazel-twig method and 'a hundred and forty yards' of arc; the census astride; the three non-figure observations (pale sward with a felt of old grass; dung standing whole; fat sheep) — do any of them state or imply harm or safety (forbidden)? (3) scene 53 unpublished: redacted's figures; the fold as the parish's folding ground (is this a real practice — sheep folded in hurdles on arable/pasture at night to dung it? redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted taking the cost over; (4) any character stating a thing they could not know; (5) whether Edwin says 'stopped' or 'dead' of the ground (forbidden for 'dead').

Output: numbered findings, each with the quoted line, the canon file/line or fact that contradicts it, and a concrete replacement. Then 'New facts' (one line each). No praise, no list of what passed.

Findings

  1. "Eight days lost" entry wording deviates from the Established quote.
Scene 51 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Not forgotten by P.M. Eight days lost."*
redacted sentence: unpublished prose Not forgotten by P.M. ... Eight days lost"* — "the tenth" is the story day-number (Day 10 = 24 Cornmonth, the list-ruling day), consistent with how the draft elsewhere refers to days by number (Day 16, Day 18). Scene 51 unpublished has silently swapped the day-number frame for the calendar date. Replace "on the 24th" with "on the tenth" to match the Established line.

  2. "nine days back" should be ten.
Scene 52 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
The sighting was Day 8 (22 Cornmonth); this scene is Day 18 (2 Harvestmonth). 18 − 8 = ten days, not nine. Change "nine days back" to "ten days back."

  3. Direction dropped: "north of the road" should be "north-east."
Scene 52 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
Scene 29 (the sighting scene) and draft/book-01/BACKFILL-ACT2.md ("lies a quarter mile north-east of the road (scene 29)") both establish north-east, correcting the old "north" wording in silent-soil.md. Scene 52 unpublished has reverted to the superseded "north." Fix to "north-east."

  4. "twelve miles apart" should be fourteen.
Scene 53 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
BACKFILL-ACT2.md: "The pale field is fourteen miles west of Fenholt (two short of the Sluice), not twelve." Twelve miles is Ranner's Sluice's distance from Fenholt, not redacted's field's (which sits two miles short of the Sluice). The two examined fields (Ordish's at Fenholt, redacted's) are fourteen miles apart. Change "twelve" to "fourteen."

  5. "Fifty miles between the furthest two" picks the wrong pair.
Scene 53 unpublished: "'Three places,' said Peri... 'Fifty miles between the furthest two.'"
Fifty miles is the established Fenholt–Wystow distance. Of the three sites (redacted's pale field, Ordish's Fenholt field, Wystow's college), Fenholt is the middle point — redacted's field sits fourteen miles further out on the opposite side from Wystow. The furthest-apart pair is redacted's field and Wystow, which (per geography.md's reasoning for redacted: Fenholt–Wystow 50–60, pale field 14 further) comes to roughly sixty-plus miles, not fifty. Either change the figure to reflect the pale-field–Wystow span, or have Peri name Fenholt–Wystow as fifty explicitly rather than call it "the furthest two."

  6. Scene 52 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
Scene 52 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose
"Here" is redacted's field, not Fenholt. Fifty miles is Fenholt's distance to Wystow; from redacted's field (fourteen miles further west) the true distance is longer (same error as #5). Either say "from Fenholt" or give the larger figure.

  7. "Two of them quiet" undercounts the fields Edwin has confirmed as affected.
Scene 53 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose Two of them quiet.'"* — items listed: the pale-field verge/bank (scene 29, confirmed alive, not quiet — Edwin explicitly refused to read the field itself at that range); Mattie's top field (confirmed quiet/null, the primary site); the headland controls (by design outside the anomaly, i.e. loud); Sennet's grass (per scenes 40/43, the census/hand-reading found the null extending 16 yd 8 in — later 21 yd 1 ft per SCENES.md — into Sennet's ground, i.e. also confirmed quiet); the fen margin for redacted (scene 49 unpublished, explicitly "alive"); and redacted's field (this scene, confirmed quiet). That's three confirmed-quiet fields (Mattie's, Sennet's, redacted's), not two — unless "Sennet's grass" is meant to cover only the loud portion he stood on, which the text doesn't distinguish. Recommend either changing "Two" to "Three," or having Edwin's line clarify he means something narrower than "put a hand in ground that tested quiet."

  8. Minor / low-confidence: bay-boarding timing.
Scene 50 unpublished (same Day 16, at dinner) has Mattie say she is boarding the bay tomorrow ("I'm doing it tomorrow, before the outer band's ready"). Scene 51 unpublished redacted sentence: unpublished prose unpublished places on Day 17. Worth a look, not a certain error.
