Consistency Check: Scenes 110–112 (Facts Only)

Findings

1. "redacted" named by Edwin six days before its established on-page reveal, and self-contradicting within the scene itself.
   Scene 112 unpublished, line 29: Edwin says "redacted's not, if redacted's anything," naming the parish outright. Peri catches it (line 31: "You said redacted," said Peri). Edwin's own explanation (line 33) then claims the opposite of what he just did: "*It's a parish nineteen miles west of my tower and I've a box on a dresser from somewhere I can't name and redacted redacted sentence: unpublished prose

Per notes/canon/world/silent-soil.md ("redacted — the sixth place") and timeline.md Day 94 (18 Saltmonth, ch. redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted, and the name redacted** reaches him only when **redacted's sending-book line and Sorrel's letter (the box opened) arrive together at redacted on Day 94 — six days after scene 112 unpublished (Day 88). SCENES.md's own outline confirms this: scene 115 unpublished (#115, Day 94, "redacted") is where "Sorrel's letter and a name, redacted" lands; scene 112 unpublished's engine line makes no claim of foreknowledge.

This is the anachronism the check was built to catch. Minimal fix: in scene 112 unpublished, Edwin should not say "redacted" at all — Peri's "You said redacted" should become something like "You've a name for it?", and Edwin's line should stay at "a parish I still can't place" / "a box from somewhere I can't name," with the specific name and the "nineteen miles west" detail withheld until scene 115 unpublished.

2. "Eighty-two days" (scene 111 unpublished) does not match the doy arithmetic; the correct figure is eighty-five.
   Scene 111 unpublished lines 55 and 63: Peri — "I've watched you for eighty-two days" — and Edwin — "Eighty-two days. Nothing." — both count from the binding (Day 1, 15 Cornmonth) to the scene's date (Day 86, 10 Saltmonth). Using timeline.md's own audited doy convention (doy=(month−1)×30+day, the same method that verifies "fifty-six days" in this same scene as exactly right): 15 Cornmonth = doy 225; 10 Saltmonth = doy 310; 310 − 225 = 85, not 82. There is no other anchor date in canon that yields 82 for this span. Minimal fix: change both instances to "eighty-five days."

3. The "dry road, twelfth of Harvestmonth" sentence conflates two distinct, differently-sourced lines.

Four times. redacted sentence: unpublished prose The draft's "and that she had been told" borrows the wet-room phrase's shape but reverses speaker and addressee and relocates it to an undated dry-road exchange. redacted sentence: unpublished prose

4. peri.md's citation of "four lines" under the 19 Harvestmonth entry vs. the draft's "one line."
Scene 112 unpublished, line 5: "He saw that it was there. redacted sentence This is likely peri.md's citation describing the pencil mark as spanning four lines of handwriting rather than being four separate annotations, so it may not be a true contradiction — but the two canon files disagree with each other on the phrasing, and the draft sides with timeline.md's "the line." Flag for reconciliation at backfill (either peri.md's "four lines" is a citation artifact to be trimmed to match the draft's "one line," or the draft should specify how many lines the pencil mark runs to).

Checks that passed (no discrepancy found)

• Days 82–84 = 6–8 Saltmonth (scene 110 unpublished); Days 85–86 = 9–10 Saltmonth (scene 111 unpublished); Days 87–88 = 11–12 Saltmonth (scene 112 unpublished) — all match timeline.md exactly.
• [Agent of Fate — Level 10.] at the seventieth entry — matches SCENES.md's binding list for scene 110 unpublished and peri.md's Working curve (~5 arrival, ~12 end of Book 1, no milestone framing); correctly supersedes the old groundwork "Level 26."
• "Fifty-six days" (13/14 Harvestmonth midnight to 10 Saltmonth) — checked against timeline.md's own audited doy chain (310 − 254 = 56): correct.
• "Forty-six days" (21 Harvestmonth entry left blank, written 7 Saltmonth) — doy 307 − 261 = 46: correct, matches edwin.md/timeline exactly, including "three words wrong and left," "right-handed," "nudge quiet," "the record is the record," and the "I have not withdrawn it..." quotation (verbatim match).

• Rim-road plan dates (18th out, redacted, ~21st redacted, 25th boxed for redacted, auger bought "on the seventeenth" for fourteen shillings) — all match timeline.md Days 93–96 and redacted.md's Frostmonth plan; redacted's own arithmetic ("three days there... twenty-four... redacted sentence: unpublished prose redacted on the 25th at the latest."

New facts (not previously in canon; candidates for backfill)

• The specific text of R. Shore's letter as transcribed in scene 110 unpublished (full wording, beyond silent-soil.md's excerpts).
