Done. Eight note files written (one per chapter, on the chapter's first scene).
Note on batch bounds: the brief said "chapters 51–58 (scenes 106–118)", but publishing/chapters.json has ch.51 = scenes 104,105 and ch.58 = scene 118 unpublished. I followed chapters.json, so my batch is scenes 104–118 and includes a note for ch.51 at 104-ground-that-doesnt-answer.md unpublished. If batch D was told to cover scene 104 unpublished, that one file may collide.
Files (path is redacted/draft/book-01/author-notes/), lead term and word count:
| File | Chapter | Lead term | Words |
|---|---|---|---|
| 104-ground-that-doesnt-answer.md unpublished | 51 | Reading blind (randomisation/blinding; Fisher 1935) | 240 |

| 108-under-a-stone.md unpublished | 53 | Judging a warning (forecast verification; Finley 1884) | 224 |
| 110-the-seventieth-entry.md unpublished | 54 | Sending in the card (Marsham's Indications of Spring, 1736–1958) | 203 |

| 118-nine-words.md unpublished | 58 | The fold (golden hoof) — discharges the term owed since ch.40 | 244 |
Second items: Flint; Advisory sheets; Printers' errors; A day book; Hiring notices; The auger; Stock refusing a patch; Hurdles.
New autobiographical claims to log in notes/author.md:
Glossary additions file: redacted: private` (14 new entries plus the deferred list: thin in the bite, pan, hay that heats still owed; the I-skipping fact left to ch.50, whose scene it belongs to; chalk downland left to the existing Clay on chalk note).
Lint: `0 errors, 3 warnings on first run. Fixed both content warnings in 106 ("the whole", "honest"). The remaining warning is the corpus-wide indefinite-pronoun rate, which the accepted notes 31–40 exceed by more (43.4 vs my 33.4 per 10,000 words); I disagree with it and left those uses. Final state: 0 errors, that one warning. No em dashes anywhere.
